About Aino

Horses have been the center of my life since I was a child. I started riding with icelandic horses at Teijan Talli (nowadays stable Furuvatni) in Petäjävesi when I was 9 years old. There I learned a vide variety of horsemanship skills and about the welfare of horses from the very beginning. I am still very happy that the start of my horse journey was at such a good stable, where it is really important how the horses are doing. Once I got older I rented some horses and trained with them, until at 16 I left to study at Ypäjä Equine College. I finished my grooming and horse management studies specialising in training young horses and after that I continued on to get my riding instructor degree. Part of the education was on the job training, which I did with Teija Sillgren (tmi.Hevosen Henkäys) in Jämsä and in England at the stable of Kyra Kyrklund and Richard White. These jobs continued to improve my skills with horses as well as my ability to evaluate their wellbeing, and my time at Ypäjä gave me a lot of experience riding and competing different kind of horses and taught me a lot about the equine industry.

After graduating I went to work in Switzerland at a showjumping stable to groom horses and flatride them at home. After a year I moved on to Belgium to be a dressage showgroom, and then again after a year I moved to Germany, where I spent the next 6,5 years working for Anna Blomgren at Anna Dressage. While working for Anna I learned to train and handle horses, as well as ride, on a whole new level. I followed Anna’s trainings with Monica Theodorescu and Louise Nathorst, as well as Morten Thomsen whom I also trained with. I also helped Anna with shows and competitions, and what’s most important, to prepare the horses for them.

In Germany I had 1-2 horses all the time myself. My plan was to compete a lot, but unfortunately due to the horses and sometimes my own health issues I wasn’t able to do it as much as hoped. At home I trained my horses towards the higher classes and learned from Anna how to build a dressage horse from the beginning all the way to Grand Prix exercises. On my free time I taught my friends for fun to keep up with my training skills.

I moved back to Finland in May 2024, so my journey as an entrepreneur is only in the beginning. My goal is to find like minded clients and associates, with whom I can share my skills and knowledge of training, riding and taking care of the wellbeing of horses, so both us and the horses can feel good!

Outside of work I spend time with my border collie Bianca, read books, and enjoy art and Finnish nature.
